Selecting a countertop may be a decision you only make once or twice. Because of this, you might have a few questions. We’re here to provide answers and make your countertop installation seamless.

From start to finish, you're in good hands

We’ve learned a lot in our years in the stone business. Our guide Preparing Your Home for StoneMark Countertops, is a great tool to ensure your installation runs smoothly. Review this before your field measure date to discuss any issues with the Template Tech. Please call our office to make an appointment for your slab selection. Slab selection is better after your template is created.

Field Measure

After you place your order, we'll need to make a template or pattern for your new countertops. We use the latest template technology, the Laser Products 2D/3D. Not only does this assure a custom fit to your unique kitchen dimensions, but it also means you can leave your old tops on while we template and make the new ones. You need to know a few things about templating over your current tops. Please review the detail in our document Templating Over Existing Countertops.

Choosing Your Slab

We recommend you visit our Louisville headquarters to explore slab and color options, and this hands-on step of the process will ensure you approve the look and feel of your stone. We can select from our suppliers' warehouses if we don't have your style in stock. We can pull up high-resolution digital photos of actual slabs, or you may choose to visit one of our Distribution Partners. Please tell them we sent you. The slabs you put on hold there will be placed on our account, and we'll contact you about the price.

Tearout

If you have new cabinets, you get to skip this step. If your old tops are still in place, we can take them off for you and dispose of them. This service has an extra charge, so please discuss it with your project coordinator to ensure we allot the appropriate time.

Install

The big day is finally here, and our team will ensure everything goes smoothly.Plus, with our Prestige Services, we know you will be pleased with your installation process.

Plumbing/Electrical/Carpentry/Tile

We are stone experts, but our staff does not specialize in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or tile. We recommend you work directly with those specialists. Ideally, it would be best to wait 24 hours before your plumber hooks up your sink, but your electrician or plumber can connect your cooktop immediately. Any additional carpentry or tile work can be scheduled at your convenience.
